I found my way to painting through my many years of work as a freelance advertising photographer in Cologne. The main focus of my free work was hand-colored black and white photographs. The photos reflect by this "alleged alienation" a mood and/or an expression of my "seeing". at the moment of recording. Various exhibitions followed with a group of artists in the Atelier-Theater, The Underground, Theater am Turm etc.
I was born in the Eifel. "Back to the roots" I live and work in the Eifel again for some years. On the search after a new challenge in the artistic field, I discovered painting as a form of expression for myself. I mostly work with acrylic paints on canvas using different materials.
I was especially impressed and inspired by artists of "Pop Art".
Pop Art corresponds to my nature in its form of expression. A kind of turning away from seriousness, by the emphatically intellectual. To depict everyday, worldly and human things pure and clear, graphically alienated. Behind seemingly trivial things are hidden desires and joie de vivre, but also longings, vulnerabilities and human abysses. The chosen colours should underline the message.
The objects or sculptures deprive an object/figure of its original meaning and preserve it a completely new identity through the transformation and addition of artistic elements;
When I create a picture or object, it is created out of my current mood or what moves me right now, therefore in my works - apart from the direction of the stem - there is no continuous theme or a certain line to be found.
